Shanghai, March 16, 2026 – The China Textile Federation Spring Exhibition 2026 kicked off in Shanghai recently, showcasing the industry’s strong innovation drive from yarn and fabric R&D to garment fashion expression. Graphene yarn fabrics that enable constant temperature and breathability in clothing, AI quality inspection equipment that transforms fabric quality control from "human eye experience" to data intelligence, and one-stop custom clothing services that truly realize "tailor-made" have become the highlights of the exhibition, demonstrating the textile industry’s transformation towards high-quality development.
Many textile enterprises have made breakthroughs in material research and development. Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group launched a series of apocynum fiber blended products, which reduce the itching of traditional linen products and solve the problem of fabric pilling through high-count and high-density production, while having natural antibacterial functions. Lv Zhiyuan, vice president of Shandong Weiqiao Textile Technology Co., Ltd., stated that apocynum fiber is rarely used in the textile field, and Weiqiao is promoting the formulation of standards for apocynum fiber yarns, fabrics and home textile products to drive the application of this material from the upper and lower reaches of the industrial chain.
In terms of functional fabrics, Wujiang Shengwei Zijinghua Textile Co., Ltd., a supplier of outdoor jacket fabrics, launched its latest 10D ultra-thin waterproof outdoor cicada wing fabric. Zhao Xiaoqin, deputy general manager of the company, introduced that the company has cooperated with universities and research institutes to innovate and develop fluorine-free waterproof technology and multi-layer composite structure, which not only achieves rainstorm resistance, but also solves the pain point of poor air permeability of traditional waterproof fabrics, and the fabric is very light, only 60 grams per square meter.
